Campground policies and rules:

In case of emergency, call 911 at any time of the day or night.
RV sites include water and electric hookups.
To help ensure every guest’s stay at Butternut Hill is safe and enjoyable, please adhere to the following rules and regulations:
- The violation of any campground policy or rule is grounds for immediate removal without refund.
- The person registering a site must be at least 18 years of age.
- The daily rate for RV sites includes up to four people, including adults and children. A $15-per-night fee is required for each additional person. No more than six people are allowed to be registered on a site. If you have more than six people in your party, please reserve an additional site or sites.
- The cabin at Butternut Hill has a maximum occupancy of two people.
- Check-in time is 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. No check-ins will be allowed after 7 p.m. without prior approval. Check-out time is 11 a.m.
- Reservations require full payment, but refunds for 70% of the amount paid may be requested if more than 7 days' notice is given.
- Each site can be reserved for a maximum of 14 nights. For requests regarding reservations beyond 14 nights, call the office.
- We can allow no more than three pets per site. Proof of rabies vaccination is required.
- Pets must be walked on a leash while outside the RV or tent and be under control at all times. Pet owners must also properly dispose of animals’ excrement.
- Owners of barking or vicious dogs will be asked to leave the campground with their animals.
- Visitors may not bring pets unless the pets are registered on a site.
- Visitors who are not registered on a site will be charged $10 per person per day and must leave by 9 p.m.
- All visitors must check in at the office. No visitors will be allowed to enter the park after 7 p.m.
- Registered campers may come and go as they please, but must show their parking pass, if provided, upon re-entry when driving past the office if someone from management is working at the office.
- The charging of electric vehicles anywhere at Butternut Hill is prohibited.
- We offer pumpouts of RV sewage storage tanks for a fee. Complimentary pumpouts are available to weekly and monthly campers. Call the office to schedule a pumpout. This service may be unavailable on some days.
- No political or campaign signs are allowed on the premises.
- The fee to replace a lost key to the cabin is $25.
- All guests assume all risks related to camping in an outdoor environment, including, but not limited to, the risk of being injured by insects or other animals, of being injured while participating in recreational activities, of being injured from contact with trees, shrubs or bushes, or being injured as a result of inclement weather. All guests agree Butternut Hill and its owners, agents and employees are not liable for injuries or property damage resulting from such risks and danger.
- No additional tents or screenhouses may be erected on RV sites or the cabin site without prior approval from management.
- Parking is available directly across the road from the RV or cabin site. Additional parking is available at the rear of the property. During special events at the campground, campers may have to park all vehicles in a designated parking area, depending on the amount of space available across the road from the RV or cabin site.
- The speed limit anywhere on the property is 5 mph.
- Sewer valves (black and gray water), hoses and connections must be in good operating condition and have no leaks. Black/gray water must be drained into sewer receptacles. None may be discharged on the ground at any time. Nothing other than human waste and toilet paper should be deposited in sewer system.
- Campers have free use of the dumping station on the campground to dump waste from their RVs. No one is allowed to use the dumping station for anything other than the disposal of RV waste from campers/trailers registered at the campground.
- Butternut Hill is not liable for any incident or injury (including death or property damage) relating to the consumption of alcohol. No alcohol may be left unattended on sites, including on picnic tables. All alcohol must be placed in campers or locked in vehicles during overnight hours. Renters must ensure that no underage drinking is allowed on their site, and must ensure the safety and sobriety of all guests. Police will be called if anyone under 21 is found to be drinking or if anyone is behaving disorderly.
- Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Noise-emitting equipment (including generators), bright lights, and/or loud voices are not permitted during this time. All children must be on their campsites or with parents/guardians during this time.
- Bike riding is limited to between 8 a.m. and dusk. Children riding bicycles must adhere to New York state laws regarding the use of helmets.
- No fireworks are allowed on the campground.
- No firearms or weapons, including handguns, long guns, other types of guns, BB guns, paint ball guns, archery, sling shots or other lethal weapons, may be used or discharged on the campground.
- Please call the office immediately if an incident occurs that has caused an injury or damage to another camper’s equipment. In the case of a serious injury, call 911.
- All fires must be built within the on-site fire pit provided and all burning wood should fit in the fire pit. Firewood cannot be gathered from the grounds except from dead or downed branches. No fires shall be left unattended or left burning overnight. No burning of plastics, glass or metal.
- No chainsaws may be used on the campground.
- All trash must be removed from outside each evening. Trash/litter may be deposited at the designated campground dumpster.
- No bulk or large household items may be disposed of at the dumpster.
- The disposal of trash in the laundry room, bathhouses or other buildings on the premises is prohibited.
- Campers must collect and dispose of all personal trash prior to their departure.
- Any camper or guest who is disturbing others, putting other people’s safety at risk, creating a nuisance or causing damage to the property or other campers’ property will be asked to leave the premises. Failure to leave as requested will result in a call to the local police. Campground management reserves the right to use its own judgment in determining whether a camper or guest is causing a disturbance or being a nuisance to others.
- Police will be called if any campers or guests refuse to leave at the end of their reservation period.
- Visitors must park in the designated parking area.
- Campers will be charged for any damage caused to a site’s electrical or water components, including pedestals and water lines.
- No selling or advertising of products or services is permitted at your campsite without prior permission from management.
- Do not move to another site without first consulting with the campground manager.
- Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Parents are responsible for the actions and safety of their children and will be held responsible for any damage caused by their children.
- Do not store gas cans or mowers under an RV.
- All golf carts must be registered with campground management. Proof of liability insurance is required. Golf carts must not be operated after sunset without proper lights.
- Campers are not permitted to operate ATVs or other types of utility vehicles on the premises.
- The campground is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- You may not receive any mail at the campground.
- The campground is not responsible for delivery of messages. However, management will make an attempt to deliver emergency messages to campers.
- Entrance onto the campground constitutes permission for management to photograph or make a video recording of the camper or visitor while they are on the premises, and to use these images for any lawful purpose without compensation to or approval from the camper or visitor.
- No nails or ropes are to be attached to trees. No defacing of trees, buildings or shrubbery.
- No trespassing on other sites, whether vacant or occupied.
- Any camper using profane or discriminatory language or who is intoxicated, or, in the opinion of management, acting in such a manner that may be offensive or annoying to others will be asked to leave the campground immediately with no refund.
- The campground is not responsible for any damage to RVs, or loss of refrigerator items caused by a disturbance in electrical service.
- The campground is not responsible for damage to RVs caused by water pressure. Campers are encouraged to use water pressure regulators.
- The washing of vehicles or RVs is prohibited without prior authorization from management.
- No one may enter any building on the campground other than the bath houses, laundry room, office and vending machine room. Do not enter the barn, other outbuildings or the owner’s residence at any time. Do not enter the grounds immediately surrounding the owner’s residence or barn at any time unless the area is open to the public during a special event.
